Thanks to the generosity of Mrs. Marguerite Cockley, the Pennsylvania Room has recently acquired the Cockley Collection, which contains an extensive collection of family research representing decades of research and correspondence. Mrs. Cockley and her late husband, Eber, were charter members of the Historical and Genealogical Society of Somerset County and served as the organization's genealogist for many years. She was also the librarian at the Meyersdale Public Library and is responsible for the creation of our Pennsylvania Room. We will always pay tribute to Mrs. Cockley, her talent and her commitment to this community. Read an article that Diane Saylor Daniels wrote for the Meyersdale New Republic Newspaper paying tribute to Marguerite Cockley.
Meyersdale Public Library also catalogs and stores the paper and photo collection for the Meyersdale Area Historical Society.
