| The Maple Festival |
The Pennsylvania Maple Festival began 52 years ago to promote the maple syrup industry in PA. Native Americans began harvesting sugar water from the region's trees hundreds of years ago and the Pennsylvania German settlers continued the industry. As maple syrup became mass produced in this century, however, it was shipped (and some of it still is) to sweeten Vermont's better known maple products. Meyersdale townspeople get together to celebrate our own products and the Pennsylvania Maple Festival is today one of the oldest small town festivals of it's kind. The Springs Folk Festival |
Springs Folk Festival: held the

Springs Farmers Market |
Local farmers and craftsmen provide a wide selection of fresh picked produce, home baked goods - including doughnuts fresh made - quilts, antiques, plants, tools and flea market items. It is open every Saturday from May to September. Located in the Springs Festival Craft Building on Rt. 669 in Springs, PA - 3 miles north of Grantsville, MD and 4 miles South of Salisbury.
